Landstar Express America Honored with Fleet Safety Award
The annual FTA Fleet Safety Awards honor the trucking association’s member companies based on the performance and safety of an entire fleet. For Landstar Express America, the fleet is comprised of independent owner-operators. Winners are selected based on a fleet’s reported DOT recordable accidents for the past two years, crash frequency, and the overall number of Florida miles driven. FTA says receiving such an award requires a singular goal and commitment to safety that is evident throughout a company.
Technology and Relationships – Two Links Your Supply Chain Needs
When managing freight transportation, the use of technology -- a transportation management system or shipment visibility mobile app -- is a great way to save time and increase efficiencies for everyone involved in a shipment. However, shippers should use caution in placing too much reliance on technology alone in managing a dynamic supply chain, putting themselves at risk in instances when a shipment doesn’t go according to plan.
